Multimedia for the WWW
  • Basic GIF animation

Technology and business
  • New media's impact on business
  • Bridging the organization-technology gap

Requirements

  • Quizzes, reaction papers, QHQs, homework
  • Personal home page containing class requirements and a page of annotated Internet resources towards the final project
  • Case analysis, delivered as a group report (2 members) and submitted as Web pages, on the success/failure and impact of new media implemented by an organization in its operations (e.g. a web site, CD-ROM, computer network, etc.)
  • Research project, delivered as a group report (2 members) and submitted as Web pages, on a relevant topic (for approval), e.g. an organization using new technology to enhance its operations, a new technological innovation and its possible application to organizational operations, or the assimilation of technology trends in the Philippines (e-Commerce, Cyber-laws, etc.)
  • Final project: Proposal and feasibility study for a new media application in the operations of a non-stock, non-profit organization. This is an individual project, and must include design studies for the media application.

Deadlines are strictly enforced.

Students are expected to participate actively in all class discussions, and observe all rules and regulations.

Unless otherwise specified, all class work will be incorporated into the student's personal home page and graded as it appears on the WWW.

Failure to submit any of major requirements, or the final project, will automatically result in a final grade of 0.0.
